Commercial Lines Claims

Commercial lines claims are loosely defined as a commercial auto, general liability, umbrella, professional liability, employment practice or any other type of commercial related claim. These types of claims should be turned in through our agency. In situations where there is a worker's compensation claim, the claim should be turned in directly to the carrier using the claims kit that is included with your policy. If the workers compensation claim is serious, you are encouraged to first turn in the claim to your carrier and then contact us directly to discuss the loss. If you need advice prior to turning in the claim directly, you are encouraged to contact our office for advice or assistance.

Filing a claim can often be an emotional and stressful event.  We strive to make sure your claims are handled professionally and courteously. When you need to file a claim, our support staff is dedicated to providing you with confirmation that your claim has been turned in, and getting an adjuster in contact with you quickly. Usually adjuster assignments are made in as little as 1-5 days depending on the type of claim and the carrier involved. As a broker or agent, we do not have settlement authority on losses. Our primary responsibility is to get the loss turned in and adjuster assigned. Once a claim has been turned in, if you need assistance working with the adjuster, please let us know.

When you believe you have a claim that needs to be turned in, our experienced staff will help guide you through the process. This includes:

  • Filing the claim
  • Getting an adjuster assigned
  • Helping interpret the carrier's "reservation of rights letter" which aknowledges receipt of the claim and coverage that may or may not exist under the policy.
  • Helping review claims correspondence and coverage decisions
  • Reviewing claim settlements and payments
  • Discussing the impact of claims on future premiums

When something goes wrong, your insurance is there to protect you. At Beach & O’Neill Insurance Associates we want to help guide you through the claims process from start to finish.
